We are getting back on track after the devastation done by Super Typhoon Odette, in fact, we are coming back stronger than ever.

Although we lost some trees, the resort now looks bigger and gives many new opportunities in the future. We updated all the rooms and they look beautiful. There are no DeLuxe rooms anymore, all the rooms are now Superior DeLuxe and sleep 3 persons (2 rooms even sleep 4 persons).
We installed new modern bathroom basins and also installed window blinds rollers to prevent light coming into the room so you can also sleep comfortably after sunrise or when you want to take your afternoon nap.

Also the kitchen is getting back on track. We started again with our Monthly Special Dishes and reintroduced an old favorite: the Mini Boodle.

Also, the restaurant size is doubled, so there is always ample table availability for you.

There are quite a few projects planned, so keep an eye on our website and on our Facebook Page to see the progress.

The newest addition to our menu is our Grazing Board or “Mini Boodle”.

A Boodle Fight originates from the Filipino army. When the soldiers are on duty there are no tables, plates and cutlery to serve their meals. Instead of that they lay Banana leaves on the ground and arrange all their food on the leaves and eat with their hands.

A Boodle Fight in our restaurant is, of course, served on a table but also on Banana leaves, no plates and no cutlery… you eat with your hands.

Our “Mini Boodle” is a small version of the boodle fight, served on a wooden board, and is full of delicacies that the local Filipino people love so much: unlimited rice, pork chops, chicken, French Fries and a big 14″ Hawaiian Pizza. The Mini Boodle is good for 8 – 10 people and only costs PhP 1,350!

Let’s resume with our monthly specials here at Isla Hayahay Beach Resort & Restaurant!

This month we kick off with an all time special but… we gave it the Isla Hayahay twist. This amazing meatloaf is smoked instead of baked, to give it this special smokey flavor, and we battered it with our special Barbecue Sauce. This huge piece of Meatloaf comes on our famous Mashed Potatoes and buttered corn on the side. A white gravy completes this delicious dish.

As always, the safety and well-being of our guests and team members is still our highest priority. With the impact of COVID-19, there have been increased interests from consumers in hygiene and safety which made us adapt new practices towards a “New Normal”.

In preparation to welcome travelers back to our resort, we have developed a program that redefines the clean and safety standards to ensure guests are able to enjoy an even cleaner and safer stay. Built upon our high standards of housekeeping and hygiene, this program will impact every step of the guest journey, from arrival to departure, which will include all of the following…

Temperature Checks – all guest, staff and visitors will be required to have their body temperature checked when entering the resort. Those with a temperature at or over 37.5°C will be subject to secondary screening. Those confirmed to have a temperature at or over 37.5°C will undergo further medical assessment and be directed to appropriate medical care.

Stay Safe Guestroom
– Check-in procedure will be with minimum contact and room keys are disinfected before handing over to guests.
– High-touch areas including light switch, door handles, TV remotes, temperature controller, water tap, toilet, refrigerator and utensils are sanitized.
– Sheets and linens are machine washed at a minimum of 70°C and properly sealed.
– Room cleaning time is pre-communicated with guests in order to reduce contact.

Food Safety
– The resort follows guidelines and is certified by the Ministry of Public Health on food safety and hygiene.
– Breakfast is pre-ordered daily with options of service at the restaurant or in-room at an indicated time.

Our Staff
– Additional Training: our staff received additional training on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols. Advance training for those with frequent guest contact including housekeeping, food & beverage, public areas, resort operations and security. Staff are reminded to stay home if they do not feel well and are also instructed on proper procedures if they notice a co-worker or guest with flu-like symptoms.
– Staff Protective Equipment: Appropriate protective equipment will be provided to and worn by all staff based on their role and responsibilities. Gloves will be provided to employees whose responsibilities require them.
– Back of House: The frequency of cleaning and disinfecting has been increased in back of house areas with an emphasis on staff dining areas, staff entrances, restrooms, offices, kitchens and service desks.
– Shared Equipment: Shared tools and equipment will be sanitized before, during, and after each shift or when the equipment is transferred to a new staff. This includes phones, computers and other communication devices, payment terminals, kitchen tools, engineering tools, cleaning equipment, keys, time clocks, and all other direct contact items used throughout the resort.

As we are prepared to welcome guests back to our resort, we want our guests to feel confident that a safe and hygienic environment that aligns with expert protocols in working to defeat COVID-19 awaits.

Protective Equipment – it is mandatory for all guest, staff, and visitors to wear a face mask when at the resort’s public spaces. The resort will prepare a personal care amenity kit for guests in all guest rooms, which will consist of a personal face mask and alcohol gel.

Public Area Cleanliness
– Increase frequency of cleaning public areas with hospital-grade disinfectants, especially at high-touch surfaces.
– Hand sanitizing liquid will be available in all public areas of the resort including entrances, near the front desk and restaurant.

Physical Distancing
–Front Desk: Staff will ensure 1.5 meters of separation whenever possible. For additional separation, transparent barriers have been installed in front desk area. Front desk agents will wear face-masks.
– Guest Queuing: All areas where guests queue are marked to indicate proper distancing. This includes the front desks, resort facilities, and restaurants.
– Restaurant and Bar: The restaurant and bar are arranged with reduced seating capacity to ensure appropriate distancing between each seated group of guests traveling together.
– Swimming Pools: Sunbeds configured to allow at least 1.5 meters of separation between every family or couple.

Our Family Suite has a whopping 60 m2 and has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The Master Bedroom has a comfortable King Size bed and the second room has 2 double beds as a standard.

Thai Chicken Curry Rice Noodle Soup

Slightly spicy coconut red curry broth, with slurpable thin rice noodles, topped with fresh herbs, thinly sliced red onion, roasted peanuts and a squeeze of lime. Yes, this soup tastes every bit as good as it looks.

Beef Rendang

Rendang is an Indonesian meat dish originating from the Minangkabau people of Indonesia. Although culinary experts often describe Rendang as a curry, Rendang is usually not considered as such in Indonesia since it is richer and contains less liquid than is normal for Indonesian curries. In 2011 an online poll of 35,000 people by CNN International chose Rendang as the number one dish of their “World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods (Readers’ Pick)” list. In 2018, Rendang is officially recognized as one of 5 national dishes of Indonesia.

Fish Caprese

We bake a nice piece of fish fillet in a casserole dish on top of a beautiful Tomato Sauce, topped with homemade pesto, mozzarella cheese and tomato. The pesto adds such a great flavor and you never would have thought to put it on fish. Served with Pasta of your choice (Penne, Spaghetti or Fettucine.

As you might know, the owner of Isla Hayahay Beach Resort & Restaurant is from France and through him we managed to get our hands on an old family recipe. Of course, before we offered it to you as a Special, we had to try it and it is

Blanquette de Porc is Pork shoulder, slowly cooked in a broth made of white wine and herbs where the broth is used to make the sauce. This mouthwatering dish is served with buttered Fettuccine and goes very well with a cool glass of Chardonnay.

A quiche is one of the most featured foods in cookbooks and restaurant menus around the world. It is a hearty, rich dish that can be made in many different ways. Our Quiche is made with real cheese, Cooked Ham and Spring Onions.

In April we go Thai all the way!

Next to the delicious dishes we have on our menu we try to offer some great specials every month, just to spoil our guests even more. This month we did choose 2 Thai favorites, Chicken Cashew nuts and a wonderful Thai Red Curry.
